Group 1 : Survey about Japanese Animation and Comics
(アンナ、静、ナッツ)
The presentation was very well-prepared and detailed in the analysis part. To get a further culture analysis, it's important to make some comparison between the foreign thoughts and our values. As an outsider, we can only receive messages of how good the Japanese anime and comics, maybe because those messages were only part of the whole picture. The Japanese people do have a neutral view on their Anime&Comics (AC) Culture, while we, Hong Kong people who are very interested in it, mostly possess a very positive thinking on this culture. I found it is quite interesting that the native Japanese people thought "Otaku" is no good to future of children, since Hong Kong AC lovers won't think it's a problem at all.
Group 2 : Perception of the Japanese people towards Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance Regarding the Healthy Development of Youths
(Isolde, Nicole, Peggy, Sing)
The issue about the ordinance has been controversial among many countries and regions because people are concerned about the healthy MENTAL development of youths. The survey's aim is a rather serious topic. I really appreciate the preparation they have done on the topic research and the power point slides. I'm also very interested in how the Japanese youths think about this issue which is aiming at them and may affect their entertainment on AC aspect. It's a pity that the interviewees were not in their target group, while most of them do not really know about the ordinance issue. The result from the sampling group may not be truly reflecting how the native Japanese views on such a sudden change. I feel that appropriate constriction on these indecent materials should be adapted but at the same time, parents guidance is much more important to help youths develop a mentally healthy life.
Group 3 : How do Japanese feel about Hong Kong?
(ゆず、ゆき、エミー)
This is really an interesting topic because we can know how the foreign people think about Hong Kong. The presentation skills of this group was really fascinating. Many Hong Kong people may think it's strange that the Japanese people will think of Jackie Chan when they mention Hong Kong. However, I don't feel the same way. Since I knew about this point when I watched a Japanese cartoon featuring a character who looked like the real Jackie Chan and was good at martial arts. The character was even named as "Jackie". Therefore, we can see how influential is Jackie Chan to the foreign countries. :D
Haha that's true that Jackie Chan influence Japanese people a lot ! My Japanese friends also think of Jackie Chan when they tallk about Hong Kong! It's a funny phenomenon*v*
回覆刪除I agree that the sampling group may not be truly reflecting how the native Japanese views on such a sudden change.
回覆刪除As you know, our result is a little bit different from our expectation. I think the sampling group might be the cause.
Thanks for your opinion =]
I was shocked that Jackie Chan is so famous and popular in Japan......becoz I don't like him at all
回覆刪除I agree with 星 san since that the sampling group is too small...We can get a more accurate result on the topics...
回覆刪除But actually, Jackie Chan is not popular in Hong Kong, my friends and I do not like him~XD
回覆刪除Thank you for your comment. I have a similar view with you.
回覆刪除In fact, オタク tends to become neutral nowadays in Japan.
